Falcon Wrestlers Make Strong Showing at Recent Meet

This past Saturday, the Elmira High School boys wrestling team went to Dayton High School and had eight placers and one champion and outstanding wrestler.

Placing for the Falcons were senior Brett Highburger at heavyweight with first place and outstanding wrestler, and seniors Gage Cooper at 215 and Colton Barklow at 144 placed second.

Ninth-grader Dayton Imbler at 113 and Tanner Christiance at 165 placed second.

Sophomore Aegis Smith at 132 placed third.

Sophomores Ashton Archer at 120 and Miguel Espinoza at 144 placed fourth.

The Elmira Falcons placed third as a team.

The girls wrestling team had only three out of the five girls compete on Saturday, but had two out of three place.

Senior June Highburger at 170 placed second, and sophomore Caetlyn Lillie at 155 placed fourth.

The Falcons will wrestle at home on Jan. 23.
