Elmira High School Once Again Serving Free Breakfast

Elmira High School is once again offering free breakfast to all students.

The cafeteria opens at 7:50 a.m. and is open until 8:20 a.m., when the bell rings to get to classes.

Breakfast options every day include cereal, fruit, graham crackers, breakfast bars, and blueberry and apple cinnamon muffins. Beverage options include apple juice, 2% milk and chocolate milk.

On certain days, there will be breakfast pizza and breakfast sandwiches for students.

Students must grab a main menu item as well as a fruit and a milk or juice to make a full meal, which qualifies for the free breakfast.

Students are not allowed to return for seconds or additional items unless they are pre-paid. To pre-pay, visit myschoolbucks.com, or bring in a cash or check and give it to the front office. If paying by myschoolbucks.com, download the app, create an account, and pay with a debit or credit card.

Each month, proceeds from food served in the cafeteria goes into an account that pays for all supplies. Any extra money goes into a savings account that can only be used for the cafeteria. The savings can be used for purchases such as ovens, floors or anything else that is needed.

The savings account can only be saved for three months before the money must be spent, or if it exceeds a certain amount. This time, the savings are being used to provide the free breakfast.
