The baseball team has had a rough start to the season, currently holding a record of 0-6 in league. There’s still a long way to go until the season ends, so the team looks ahead to the future to turn things around.

The Varsity baseball team faced Siuslaw on Friday in a double-header. They lost both games, but played very hard in match-ups that came down to the wire, ending 9-10 and 6-7.

Varsity head coach JT Rhodes has confidence in the team’s abilities moving forward.

“We aren’t meeting expectations. With that being said, we are really close to putting it all together,” the coach told Falcon news. “The boys continue to work hard. I expect a solid run starting this week.”

Varsity senior Quinton Marshall still believes in the team despite the season’s struggles.

“We started downhill. We’ve hit rock bottom and it’s only up from here,” the senior said. “So I think we just keep at it, recover and hopefully have a chance at playoffs.”

Varsity baseball will go on to face Harrisburg at home on Tuesday at 4: 30 p.m. They will compete against Harrisburg again — this time away — in a double-header on Friday at 2 and 4: 30 p.m.
