Junior JT Myers Named Finalist in Eugene Writers Contest

Junior JT Myers submitted a story titled “Orbit” to the Fiction Fantastic Young Writers Contest.

Myers story “Orbit” was chosen as one of the top five finalists out of the 100+ stories that were submitted. There will be first, second and third place winners along with honorable mentions.

“I’m really surprised I won, I thought my story could be better in a lot of places, but I’m excited for it to be published in a book locally,” Myers shares about his own story.

The top five finalists are listed below.

“Orbit” by JT Myers, Elmira High School
“The Rose Theater” by Ishika Chakraborty, South Eugene High School
“To the Ends of the Earth” by Brianna R. Bird, Springfield High School
“Whispers in the Woods” by Lauren Ellison, Marist High School

The first place winner gets $100, second place gets $50 and third place gets $25. Each finalist will have their stories published in the Fiction Fantastic Anthology.

The winners will be announced on June 6 at the Eugene Public Library.
