EHS Seniors Share Post-Graduation Plans and Career Goals

Falcon News interviewed a group of seniors about their plans after graduation. The Class of 2024 shares their ideas for traveling, college and careers in business.

Question: What are your plans for after graduation? 

Answer: “I want to take off a couple years to focus on work, so I can save money for college at LCC.”

Q: What career are you interested in? 

A: “I want to get a teaching degree in English language and literature.”

Q: What sparked your interest in teaching? 

A: “I’ve always been really good at spelling and grammar, and I would love the opportunity to teach others.” 

Q: What are you expecting college life to be like?  

A: “I think it will be tough for the first two years being away from home, but I think it will be OK.” 

Q: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?

A: “I’m looking forward to being on my own and experiencing life outside of this small town.”

Mariana Stoqui

Stoqui is a foreign exchange student from Brazil. She is considered a junior at EHS but will actually go on to a university after this year because she has already finished school in her home country.

Q: What are your plans after graduation? 

A: “My plan is to live and study in Italy, at the University of Bologna.” 

Q: What do you want to major in? 

A : “My plan is to major in economics and business.”

Q: What is your dream job?

A: “To be a housewife and not work.”

Q: What are you expecting college life to be like?  

A: “I expect to have more enjoyment because I will be studying what I’m interested in. I will be living by myself in a new country so it will be challenging, but I’m sure I will experience a lot of new things that will make the challenge worth it.” 

Q: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?

A: “I’m looking forward to enjoying my last months in my home country.”

Iris Frome

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: “My plans are to go to college to study biology or animal sciences to become a veterinarian.”

Q: What sparked your interest in becoming a veterinarian? 

A: “I’ve lived on a farm for my whole life and been surrounded by animals so I knew that I wanted to be able to continue that lifestyle when I grew up.”

Q: What do you expect life in college to be like?

A: “I think that it’ll be challenging, but also full of potential and new opportunities which I’m excited for.”

Q: What college will you be attending?

A: “I’ve applied to a few and won’t hear back until April, but I want to go to the University of Washington.” 

Q: What are you most excited to achieve during your college experience?

A: “I want to experience new things that are different from the small town I’ve grown up in, so I’m excited for that.”

Dayshah Conklin

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: “I plan to go to Grand Canyon university in Arizona to study forensic psychology.”

Q: What sparked your interest in forensic psychology?

A: “I really like learning about how different people think and especially when it comes to serial killers or criminals. It’s very interesting.”

Q: What do you expect life in college to be like?

A: “I expect college to be a big adjustment, but a place for me to really grow as my own person and obviously to have lots of fun and make memories.”

Q: What are you most excited to achieve during your college experience? 

A: “I’m most excited to meet new people and learn more about my major.”

Q: How do you feel about moving to a different state?

A: “I’m super excited to move and live on my own. I’ll definitely miss my friends and family, but I’m ready to have my own experience.”

Chase Childs

Q: What are your plans after graduation? 

A: “I’m going to LCC and majoring in business.” 

Q: What sparked your interest in business? 

A: “I want to be rich.” 

Q: What do you expect life in college to be like?

A: “Probably really fun, but hard because of school.”

Q: What are you most excited to achieve during your college experience? 

A: “Joining Alpha Sigma Phi.”

Q: What is your dream job?

A: “Owning a company and investing.” 

Braxton Christofferson

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: “I really want to play golf as much as I can, and I plan on working at the International Paper company.”

Q: What sparked your interest in International Paper?

A: “My dad works there, and I would really like to be a pipefitter for them.” 

Q: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?

A: “Just getting to spend the last bit of time I have left with my friends before they leave for college.”

Q: What is your dream job, and why? 

A: “To play professional golf. Golf is my favorite sport and getting to make a living off of doing what I love would be amazing.” 

Q: What college will you be attending at?

A: “I would only go to college if I got a scholarship for golf. The college I like most is the University of Oregon because I really like their golf program.”

Lillian Ossowski

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: “After graduation I plan on going to college somewhere in Oregon, but I’m still deciding if I want to go to a four year or to a community college to play volleyball. I also hope to study abroad at whatever college I plan to attend.”

Q: What career are you Interested in? 

A: “Veterinary medicine.”

Q: What sparked your interest in veterinary medicine?

A: “I’ve always had a love for animals growing up. I also enjoy helping others a lot. So a career where I can combine the two is amazing to me.” 

Q: What do you expect life in college to be like?

A: “I expect it to be a whole new life with new people, lots of room for experience, many opportunities, and valuable education.” 

Q: What are you most excited to achieve during your college experience? 

A: “I am most excited to see who I become as a person by the end and how my true self looks.”

Austyn Woolcott

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: “My plans are to go to college and play soccer and track and get a good education.” 

Q: What are you wanting to major in?

A: “Athletics.” 

Q: What do you expect life in college to be like?

A: “Fun and educational, but hardworking like a job.” 

Q: What are you most excited to achieve during your college experience? 

A: “Graduating college.” 

Q: What is your dream job?

A: “Being an athletic trainer.”

Quinton Buckland

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: “To play football in college.” 

Q: What sparked your interest in football? 

A: “All my friends played it and my grandpa would always talk about me playing.”

Q: What do you expect life in college to be like?

A: “I think it would be like high school, but without parents.” 

Q: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?

A: “Moving out.”

Q: What is your dream job?”

A: “Owning a clothing business.” 

Quinton Marshall

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: “I’m going to Lane to get my bachelors in nursing and my EMT license.” 

Q: What sparked your interest in nursing?

A: “I’ve always wanted to be there for people, and having a job where I can help others sparked a passion.”

Q: What do you expect life in college to be like?

A: “I expect it to be challenging, with the homework being immense and truly having to pay attention in your classes.”

Q: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?

A: “I’m looking forward to spending time with my family in the summer.”

Q: What’s your dream job?

A: “My dream job would be a nurse practitioner or a firefighter.”
