A Veneta business owner has opened a new bar and grill at the former site of Yukon Jack’s.

Owner Hernan Torres also runs and operates Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant with his father off of Highway 126 at the West Lane Center.

Long Tom Bar and Grill opened last week in the midst of the ice storm at 24967 W. Broadway.

Falcon News talked to Torres about the new restaurant.

“It will be a kind of steakhouse,” Torres said. “Overall. our goal is to just bring back another good quality restaurant to our community.”

The new bar and grill is a family-friendly restaurant that will include a bar atmosphere and a separate area for family seating.

“Pool tables, live music, [and] karaoke with a good variety of your favorite foods and drinks,” Torres said.

Torres described what would be on the menu.

“We’re planning to have good quality steaks, burgers, sandwiches, salads and pastas,” he said.

The restaurant is currently hiring new cooks, waiters, waitresses, bartenders, hosts, and dishwashers.

Applicants must be 18 years or older to work as a waitress/waiter and must be 21 years of age to work as a bartender. Resumes and applications can be dropped off at Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant.
