Elmira High School Students Share Their New Year’s Resolutions

Falcon News went out to interview students to share their resolutions for the year of 2024.

Senior Johnny Rhodes

Q: What’s your New Year’s resolution?

A: “I don’t wanna be the fat friend in the friend group anymore.”

Q: Are you planning on sticking with that resolution?

A: “No sir, probably only last about 4 months.”

Q: What inspired you to have that resolution?

A: “I just wanted to improve myself physically, and mog everyone.”

Junior Allison Payne

Q: What’s your New Year’s resolution?

A: “My New Year’s resolution is to be able to run 5 miles in 35 minutes.”

Q: What inspired you to have that goal?

A: “At the beginning of the school year I started waking up at 6 a.m. and running before school. I used to run 3 miles in 30 minutes, but I have already made progress by running 3 miles in 23 minutes, so I would like to keep improving.”

Q: Do you see yourself reaching that sub-35-minute mark?

A: “Yes, I am confident that I will.”

Junior Ray Ruby

Q: What is your New Year’s resolution?

A: “I want to stay in the gym, and build a stronger relationship with God.”

Q: What’s something that can help you reach that goal?

A: “Steroids.”

Senior Braxton Christofferson

Q: What’s your New Years resolution?

A: “To get gains in the gym, and hit bombs on the golf course.”

Q: What inspired you to have that resolution?

A: “John Cena.”

Q: Do you see yourself keeping the resolution for the rest of the year?

A: “Yes, sir.”

Junior Cailey Eden

Q: What’s your New Year’s resolution?

A: “To get rich.”

Q: How are you planning on getting rich?

A: “Get a job, or find a sugar daddy.”
