Falcon Basketball Soars Through the First Half of League

Elmira High School basketball has just concluded the first half of league play with games against the Harrisburg Eagles.

The girls currently sit at a record of 9-9, while the boys sit at a record of 12-7 and hope to make the playoffs for the first time in more than 10 years.

Falcon News asked senior Kaeden Garcia, team captain for the boys basketball team, how he feels about how the season has gone.

“I feel like we’ve done really well this year. I think our team chemistry has been really high over the past couple weeks,” the guard said.

The starting center for the Lady Falcons team, senior Rylee Rice, expressed what she wants the end of her final season to look like.

“I feel like we’ve had some really good games as well as some not some great games,” the senior told Falcon News. “I feel like we’re improving and if we continue on that trajectory we can finish a lot better than we started.”

Kaiden Carter reflected on his senior season with the team.

“We started off the year really hot for the first time in my career. and that felt really nice,” Carter said. “We went into a slump for a little bit, but I think we’ve recovered well.”

The Falcons will start off the second half of league play against the Pleasant Hill Billies this Friday. The girls game tips off at 6 p.m., and the boys begin at 7:30 p.m., the game will also be broadcast live on KEZI if you are unable to make it to the game.
