The Elmira High School Theater Production class had performances on Saturday and Sunday for the final show of the school year, staging “Sense and Sensibility,” written by Jane Austen and adapted for the stage by Jessica Swale.

The play told the story of the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne, as they navigated their lives in regency era England. It was a fun night filled with love and heartbreak, as the actors played out the romances between the sisters and their various suitors.

Sunday night was senior night and was filled with happy tears as teacher/director DesiRae Wright-Rendon handed out bouquets and told stories of the seniors and exchange students.
It’s the first group of students who were able to have theater as an outlet for all four years of their high school career. There were three students who had been a part of theater from the club days of their ninth- and 10th-grade years all the way through this final performance.
