
The Elmira High School men’s wrestling team competed last Saturday in their regional meet at Creswell High School, with 10 Falcons placing overall and five qualifying for the state meet.
The five EHS wrestlers who qualified for state are:
- Junior Memphis Morgan, 3rd place, 132 pounds
- Junior Tristyn Bell, 3rd place, 150 pounds
- Sophomore Liam Penkauskas, 3rd place, 165 pounds
- Junior Jonah Cooper, 3rd place, 215 pounds
- Senior Braiden Agnes, 2nd place, 285 pounds
The others who placed at the regional meet were:
- Ninth-grader Bently Foutz, 4th place, 106 pounds
- Junior Kyland Whittington, 5th place, 126 pounds
- Senior Judah Larsen, 5th place, 138 pounds
- Senior Miguel Espinoza, 4th place, 157 pounds
- Sophomore Sam Full, 5th place, 190 pounds
Senior wrestler Braiden Agnes told Falcon News that he’s excited for his final state meet.
“I feel really good going into state this year,” Agnes said. “I definitely know I can get top six at state, but I feel I can do even better than that.”
The qualifying Falcons will compete in the state tournament next Thursday and Friday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
