Student Clubs Organize Valentine’s Day Fundraisers

Co-written by Falcon News Reporter Jaquilynne Kirk

Two of Elmira High School’s clubs are celebrating Valentine’s Day this year by letting students have a gift delivered to a recipient of their choice.

During this Valentine’s season, the EHS Interact Club is selling roses for students to purchase for their partners, friends or themselves.

The flowers will be available for pre-order on Friday the 11th in the cafeteria at both lunches. They will also be for sale Monday the 14th at both lunches, and during this time anyone can pick up their order from Friday.

The proceeds will go to the EHS Interact Club to help fund future events, which was started by Riley Ramirez five years ago as a way for students and community members to work together.

Students can buy one rose for $3 or four roses for $11.

The Interact Club is also selling roses by the dozen for $39.95 that will be delivered by club members to whatever address is specified by the buyer. To order, click here.

Meanwhile, the National Honor Society of EHS has relaunched the Candygram fundraiser with a new theme for the month of February. Anyone at Elmira High School can buy a Valentine’s card that comes with either a bag of Fun Dip or Hershey’s Kisses, and will be sent to a recipient of their choice by a member of the National Honor Society during Monday, February 14.

For their convenience, the National Honor Society requests that people wishing to purchase a Valentine Candygram include the period, class and name of their card’s recipient, as well as a specification as to whether Fun Dip or Hershey’s Kisses should be sent to the recipient.

Those purchasing a Candygram are allowed to write a short message on their card to the recipient, however, any rude or inappropriate language is prohibited by the National Honor Society.

Refunds for Candygrams undelivered for any reason have not been guaranteed by the National Honor Society.

Both fundraisers will be over by Valentine’s Day. Students must pay in cash by Friday, February 11th if they wish to purchase anything from either the Interact Club or National Honor Society.
