The Elmira High School boys soccer team played a paddle battle Monday against Junction City. The teams ended in a draw at 2-2, forcing the winner of the paddle battle to be decided in a later game.

The paddle battle is an annual tradition in the league. Two teams play against each other, and the team that wins gets to put their winning score on the paddle.

Since the Falcons and the Tigers tied, the paddle battle has been rescheduled for Oct. 20, when Elmira is set to play Junction City again.

The Falcons played a tough game and were well matched with the Tigers. Neither team scored until the second half. The first goal of the night was scored by Hayden Coone, who also scored the second goal for the Falcons. Austyn Woolcott had an assist on one of those goals.

The Falcon boys soccer team plays again Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. against Cottage Grove.
