The 2022-2023 Homecoming Week ended with a football game on Friday and a dance on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the game, the Falcons went head to head with La Pine for a tough fight. While the Falcons got the first six points, it was a battle for who would keep the lead throughout the game. <\/p>\n\n\n

Unfortunately for the Falcons, the Hawks took the much needed lead and ended the game with 52 points, Falcons ending with 26. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a tough loss to go with a tough game. The Falcons fought hard and made the Hawks earn the win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The game was great, obviously it did not end how we wanted it too on the scoreboard, but the students seemed to have a great time. It is great for the community to get back to Homecoming traditions here at Elmira. The parade, the game, the dance, and the week-long festivities were a blast,” EHS Teacher and Coach Bo Highburger said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Homecoming king and queen were announced at the game. Jack Reichenburger was announced as Homecoming king and Ashlyn Turnbo as queen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the game ended, the Homecoming royalty led the Falcon fans and the football team in singing the EHS fight song and the lighting of the “E.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dance on Saturday kept the student body busy for two hours and brought Homecoming week to an end with concessions, a photographer, a photo backdrop, a trivia area, and of course, music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My first Hoco dance was pretty fun, but it was hot and the music wasn\u2019t the best, but it was very fun and I liked dancing with people and the picture booth,” sophomore Cailey Eden said about how she enjoyed her first Homecoming dance at EHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our own Homecoming royalty took the floor for a song before the dance ended and the end of the dance signaled the end of Homecoming for this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
