(Courtesy photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, May 3rd the Elmira track and field team set off on a two hour bus ride to the Steve Prefontaine Track at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay for what would be the last meet for Junior Varsity athletes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the team arrived at 3 p.m., field events began at 4 p.m. and running events started at 5 p.m.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elmira took first place in many events. Senior Gavyn Laing took first in the 200m, sophomore Iris Frome in the 400m, and 9th grader Jude Carman in 3000m with a personal record (PR) of 10 minutes and 40 seconds. Senior Claire Head took first in the 100m hurdles with a PR of 18.6 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gavyn Laing, Isaiah Wilson, Desmond Wilson, and Tanner Hunt brought home first in the 4&#215;100 with a PR of 45.45\u00a0 seconds.
