(Photo by Jordan Smith \/ Falcon News)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Elmira High School recently welcomed new staff member Tessa Slager, who says she has big plans for the next chapter of the campus library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among her goals as the coordinator of the school&#8217;s library services, Slager said she hopes one side of the library will serve as a workplace where students can study, and the other side will be more of a hangout place and creative space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I want to put up decorations and move the books around to maximize space,&#8221; Slager said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that what made her want to work in a library was that she wanted to create a safe place for kids to relax and have a good time and not have to worry about life. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before joining Elmira High School, Slager worked as a preschool teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Slager has already put her own touch on the library space.
