The Elmira High School Advanced Auto class has chosen to rebuild a 1976 Ford F250 into a work truck for the school as their project for the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The class has already begun work. Student’s pulled out the motor and are in the process of rebuilding it, with the intention of selling it to fund the project.<\/p>\n\n\n

The new motor for the truck has arrived, and now the class is getting the parts needed to put the motor together and into the truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, they plan to get a flat bed for the truck and repaint it in school colors with a falcon emblem on the hood and doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis project started from a random idea to make an on campus work truck that will allow the shop classes to do projects here on campus,” teacher Johnny Bowden told Falcon News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What started as a simple project has potentially turned into a much more elaborate piece. That hasn’t stopped the student’s engagement, however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It has become something bigger,” Bowden said. “and ideas like giant metal falcons with flames coming out of its mouth have been discussed. This has turned into a very cool and interesting project that has brought a lot of attention in class from the students.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students have been working hard on this project so far, and they are all excited to continue working and finish the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to see what can be accomplished with our small group of people,” senior Tyler Johnson said, “and once finished we can all stand back and say \u2018we built that.'”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The class expects to finish the project within the next two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
