This past Thursday and Friday the Falcons competed in the OSAA 3A State Championships at Hayward Field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The men’s 4x100m relay team did great, placing second by only 0.01 seconds. The team consisted of senior Austyn Woolcott, juniors Kyler Colwell and Kainoa Harwood and sophomore Ezariyah Dupper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colwell described his feelings about the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Overall it was a great experience,” Colwell said. “It’s a bit disappointing how it ended but I still think we did great.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The men’s 4x400m team was able to snag seventh place after being predicted to fall short of the podium. The team was made up of Woolcott, Harwood, Colwell, and senior Quinton Buckland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Harwood was disappointed in how the event ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It was mid, and I could have done better,” he told Falcon News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The women’s 4x100m team also had a large upset, coming seventh overall. The team consisted of senior Iris Frome, sophomore Ava Greene, and ninth-graders Rainee Foltz and Petra Archer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greene enjoyed the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It was an awesome and fun experience.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Archer also reached the podium by coming in fourth in the 110m hurdles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I feel pretty good,” Archer told Falcon News. “I got a personal record and placed at state. Overall it was a good season.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sophomore Rylee Rice placed fourth in the high jump during her first trip to the state competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I think I could’ve done better, but I’m not unhappy with how I did,” Rice said. “But now I know that even when I’m not at my best I am still not horrendous.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Frome placed fifth overall in the 800m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior Lillian Ossowski threw a personal record of 110′ 4″ in javelin and secured fourth place overall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
